Netflix updated their iOS apps last week. I always get nervous when an app that we have certified gets an update. We will be able to re-certify it? Well I am happy to report that this great app still works! The heart of the app is the ability to stream movies to iOS devices. It is the best at getting the most of your bandwidth and the update did not change that.
The user interface was the biggest change. The update date made the controls very minimalistic. The controls for the actual video player did not change.
If you haven't tried Netflix on your iPad yet you should check it out. The Netflix app was originally tablet certified on 10-31-11 (click for review). The app runs very well on the iPad over wifi even bad airport connections.
Here is a link to one of my favorite streaming shows on Netflix. Mad Men is currently one of the best shows on TV. The writing, amazing attention to detail, and great story telling make it like flipping through an expensive coffee table book about New York in the 1960's.
