Ticket to Ride is a board game in the German tradition (in this case meaning complicated with lots of small parts). Like other successful board games such as Settlers of Catan or Carcassonne, the iPad version is easier to play and therefore much more enjoyable for the entire family.
In Ticket, you're job is to claim railway routes to link cities on a map of the United States (you can download additional maps for additional money). You and up to five of your friends compete for routes, cut each other off and force long out-of-the-way workarounds. The more routes you claim, the more points you earn.
The newest update includes a pass-and-play option so you can all play on the same iPad. There is also a wifi option if everyone wants their own screen. Ticket to Ride is fun, fast-paced and, while initially intimidating to learn (even the tutorial is a little confusing), easy enough to pick up and play well.
