One of the most enjoyable things about owning an iPad is the ability to place it between yourself and a friend and play a game. Many traditional boardgames have found their way to the tablet, but Versus Pad seems to have made it their mission to turn the iPad into a group activity.
Free the Fobbles is one of my favorite games for two. In it, you have a series of wooden boards and stone gates placed randomly on the screen. You're in control of either the blue Fobbles or the white ones, which are tiny round creatures trying to make their way to the ground from the top of the screen. Each player takes turns removing a wooden plank to try and free their Fobbles while leaving the other players' trapped.
The stone gates are marked with colored triangles indicating whether the blue or the white Fobbles can pass through them freely. Every level is generated randomly and the play can be either fast and furious or slow and deliberative. It's one of those games that you can keep playing over and over again without seeing any repetition or patterns.
There is also a one-player training mode where you try and rescue 70 percent of your Fobbles before any of the others touch the ground.

Welcome to Fobbleland, where the Fobbles got stuck high up in the air while felling skywood. Scared and shivering despite the sunny weather, they now need your help! Destroy a skywood by tapping on it, and make all your Fobbles safely land down on the grass. You and your friend take take turns in this game especially made for two, and especially made for the iPad. The first player to free all of their Fobbles wins. Levels are generated randomly for endless variations!
Note special stone passages are scattered throughout Fobbleland -- they cannot be destroyed, and only let through fobbles of one color! To master freeing Fobbles, enter the special training for one, in which you need to rescue 70% of your own Fobbles without freeing any of the opponent's Fobbles. Let the Fobble fun begin!
