If you're a fan of the Fox show "Bones," the iPad-based companion app makes a good thing even better. When a new episode premiers (Thursdays at 9/8 Central) the app syncs to the broadcast and offers users a variety of extra content. If Dr. Brennan says something that's difficult to follow, the app translates. If Dr. Hodges finds some particularly interesting particulates, you can see close ups on your screen.
When Bones and Booth have lunch at the diner, the app gives you information about the song playing in the background (and a link to it on iTunes). There are behind-the-scenes interviews, viewer polls, and at the end of each episode, you can read Dr. Sweet's journal entries about what's going on both with the case and his personal life. It also provides links to social media sites, so you can interact with other fans.
It's nicely presented and the latest update is both stable and elegant.
